OUR STORY
Our Story
Old Glory Retirement Foundation was started in 2025 with a simple mission: help Americans retire flags that are ready for retirement. What began as a duty nobody else was filling has grown into a foundation made up of roughly 90% veterans, now carrying flag retirement responsibilities for our region of Ohio. We retire flags with ceremony, honor veterans by name, and teach communities — especially young people — the proper way to respect the colors.
FOUNDER & CEO
About Adam Hunter
Old Glory Retirement Foundation was founded by Adam Hunter, who serves as Founder and CEO.
He built this foundation around a conviction that a flag isn't just cloth — it's a symbol people served under, fought under, and were buried under. It deserves better than an afterthought. Under his leadership, OGRF has grown into a team that's roughly 90% veterans, taken on flag retirement duties for the region, and made education the heart of the mission — because the surest way to honor the flag tomorrow is to teach a kid what it means today.
THE OLD GLORY PHILOSOPHY
The Old Glory Philosophy
Retire every flag as though someone's father served under it — because someone's father did. That's the standard. We don't rush ceremonies, we don't cut corners on etiquette, and we never treat a worn flag as trash. We do this work in public, with kids watching, because honor that's taught is honor that lasts. Every flag gets a dignified final salute, and every ceremony leaves someone knowing a little more than they did before.
